October 6th, 2009 ~ EnvoroDome Makes a Splash at the Central Washington State Fair. From the numbers, it looks like over 1,500 Eastern Washington residents wandered through EnviroDome's Exhibit at the Central Washington State Fair. The dome was taped from the beginning of assembly to the final bolt being tightened by WSDOT Cameras at the Fair. It took Chuck Bertrand, Sandy Gilley and Larry Bertrand just under 3 ½ hours to assemble the dome. Even before the dome was finished, vendors, staff and wanderers through the fair began coming to visit the new addition. If you stood outside the dome for any amount of time, you could hear the familiar pitch, "it takes just 3 ½ hours to assemble, assuming you have two old guys and a woman" emanating from inside the dome. Wander inside and hear more familiar words like "WOW", and "It looks a lot bigger from the inside than from the outside". By the end of the second day, the EnviroDome was the talk of the Fair. The dome's uses have now been expanded to include Elk camps, hunting cabins, personal vacation Domes, and believe it or not, Man Caves. At anytime throughout the 10 day fair, the dome had traffic, not the least of which was the owner and manufacturer of the domes, Capt. Don Kubely from IntershelterTM, who made a point of flying in from Alaska to see the exhibit. Capt. Kubely flew in for the afternoon and stayed for 3 days. Other visitors ranged from kids that loved the acoustics of the dome to hunters, and even to senior citizens thinking of how the EnviroDome would fit into their retirement. With all that excitement, the crew from EnviroDome were flat exhausted by the end of the fair. In closing, the dome's excitement has created additional opportunities. Many thank you's go out to the Central Washington State Fair, their staff and employees.
