How many square feet are in each EnviroDome?

EnviroDomes comes in two sizes.  The 14' diameter dome is 154 square feet.  The 20' diameter dome offers 314 square feet and up to 500 square feet with the optional loft.

Can you connect more than one dome together?

Yes, you can connect multiple domes together by inserting additional door panels, then simply connect two door frames together.  You can add up to 4 additional door panels in the 20 foot dome (total of 5 door panels available on each dome).

What are the domes made of?

The 20' EnviroDome is made of a high-tech aerospace composite panels.  The 14'dome is made of cutting edge HD plastic that has bridged the gap from tents and trailers to traditionally built framed houses. They have the strength of a standard building but the mobility of a tent.  It can be repeatedly taken down and reassembled while retaining its structural integrity.

Can the EnviroDome withstand natural disasters?

The EnviroDome is built to withstand extreme environmental conditions.  EnviroDomes have survived Class 4 hurricanes and 8.5 earthquakes with little to no structural damage. EnviroDomes can withstand up to 40 feet of snow and 175 knot winds.

How is the 20 foot dome shipped?

The 20 foot EnviroDome ships with 21 round pieces.  Each piece weighing less than 55 pounds and are stacked like "Pringles" Potato Chips.  The kit includes one heavy duty door w/lock and 2 insulated sliding glass windows.

Up to 3 additional heavy duty double paned sliding windows.

Up to 4 additional heavy duty doors or door knock outs.

A door knock out is a standard door panel without the door, used as a recess for added space. Additional panels replace standard panels.

What special tools will I need to assemble an EnviroDome?

EnviroDomes do not require special tools for assembly:

Both domes can be assembled in under 4 hours using three people.  Additional time should be added to caulk the dome and tighten all of the bolts.

How long can I live in an EnviroDome?

We have people who have been living in EnviroDomes since the early 1980's.  The Domes are as structurally sound now as they were the day they was erected.  Due to the gel coat finish (similar to a boat finish) the domes require very little maintenance.

What kind of structure is needed to erect the dome?

It's the only structure in the world that has no frame and has structural integrity.

Can they be sealed?

Yes, the domes can be sealed.  Once sealed, they become ideal shelters for quarantine areas and will protect against bio-hazards.  The sealed domes work extremely well for sheltering the humanitarian aid workers dealing with outbreaks of serious diseases or terrorist attacks.

Where are EnviroDomes made?

EnviroDomes are proudly made in America.  We have two manufacturing facilities.  One is in California and the other is in Portland Oregon.

What maintenance is needed?

An exterior gel coat which is virtually indestructible covers the panels. This gel coat is resistant to sun, snow, rain or temperatures over 120°F or below 0°F. The gel coat is molded into the fiberglass giving the Dome incredible structural strength that requires little to no maintenance.  EnviroDomes are not made from any wood products so you don't have to worry about damages caused by termites or other pests.  In addition, the fiberglass is mold and mildew resistant.

What is the optional Insulation kit made of?

P2000 is a hybrid rigid-board insulation that is decades ahead of the conventional products used for insulating building structures. P2000 is made with a dense expanded polystyrene (EPS) core.  Each 4' x 8' sheet utilizes a high grade reflective finish on one side and a very durable white woven finish on the other.  Once you've installed the P2000 kit  and taped the seams you have a vapor barrier, radiant and convection heat barrier, wind barrier, thermal barrier, bug barrier and a beautifully finished interior.
